Josselin Escalante and her family, immigrants from Guatemala, had been hoping to win asylum here when Josselin was killed in a shooting at her high school in Nashville last week. Ahead of sending her body back to Guatemala on Thursday, her father and uncles talked to us about being victims of two intractable American problems: the broken immigration system and the epidemic of gun violence.
